Dear *{{Informal Name}}*,

The Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. famously said, “the moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” Indeed, our struggles to reform our laws, policies, and institutions to be more righteous and just often require long obedience in the same direction. Yet Paul encourages us to “not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.” (Gal. 6:9).

Expert Policy Brief Makes Christian Case for ERA

We thank God for a breakthrough moment in our long-running efforts to ensure full inclusion and true equality in the U.S. Constitution. Justice Revival is proud to announce the release of our Policy Brief on the ERA, which makes the Christian case for the fundamental human rights of women, minorities, and all Americans. It details how the ERA will empower Congress to pass vital national legislation to prevent gender-based injustice, such as sexual and domestic violence, pregnancy and pay discrimination, female genital mutilation, child marriage, and more. Read the full brief and our press release.

Too often, U.S. lawmakers encounter religious opposition to the dignity and rights of women and LGBTQ+ citizens. But last Thursday, at a U.S. House Committee hearing on the ERA, this community’s support for equal dignity and rights became part of the permanent congressional record. Whether you’ve been with us since the launch of the #Faith4ERA campaign or you're brand new to Justice Revival, I give thanks for your fellowship on this journey towards a more just America.

Are you searching for inspiration in your journey towards justice? Whether you’re new to human rights or a longtime student of the subject, I hope my recent lectures at St. Philip Presbyterian Church can provide another opportunity to deepen your understanding and inform your witness for justice in the world. It was pleasure to be with this Houston community as we explored biblical and theological sources of human rights in the Christian tradition.
