Dear *{{Informal Name}}*,
As we continue to mourn the loss and celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, we’re keeping busy at Justice Revival advancing a cause that was central to her—the inclusion of all people, regardless of gender, within the law’s full protection.
A Service of Remembrance this Thursday at Noon
For some midweek inspiration, join us this Thursday, October 8th at noon EDT for the chapel service at Union Theological Seminary, where I’ll be offering the homily, entitled “Foremothers in a Faith that Does Justice.” Based on Micah 6:8, my sermon will reflect on Justice Ginsburg’s legacy, as well as that of her predecessor, the late Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray. Kimberley Gordy, who was our ministry intern over the summer, is leading this service of worship and remembrance.
New Workshop on Equal Rights Oct. 22nd–24th
A reminder that Justice Revival will soon be presenting a groundbreaking program on the Equal Rights Amendment designed specifically for faith leaders. On October 22nd – 24th we’ll offer a dynamic, interactive (virtual) workshop for clergy, lay leaders, and seminarians, in partnership with Union Theological Seminary.
Gender Justice as a Matter of Faith:
A Workshop for Christian Leaders on the Equal Rights Amendment
Join us to explore why the ERA matters today as much as ever, and what it will take for this vital amendment to become the law of land—nearly 100 years after it was first introduced. This six-hour workshop will increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of the ERA and empower participants to articulate their views in church and civic settings.
Registration is required, so please register early and help spread the word.
Visit Our New Website!
We are delighted to announce that Justice Revival recently unveiled a new, improved website! While technical challenges prompted the move, we are excited about the opportunity to communicate the heart and soul of this mission in a fresh way. We're grateful to Jennifer Pavlovitz at Pavlovitz Design for her outstanding work on the site.
Visit us at justicerevival.org, where you can take action on human rights campaigns, find latest insights on our blog, or do a deep dive in the new resource library. Share our site with your friends and neighbors to help grow the movement!
Dance Benefit Friday Oct. 16th
Bring a friend and join us on Facebook Friday, October 16th at 7:00 pm Central / 8:00 pm Eastern to see some amazingly talented dancers share their gifts to raise awareness about racial injustice in America. The Houston based Ad Deum Dance Company is creating a special performance, “Listen,” to benefit Justice Revival.
Ad Deum’s mission is to “create and perform excellent and vital works of dance that serve to wash over the heart and soul of humanity with relevant meaning and redemptive hope.” The inspiration for this piece is taken from Micah 6:8, Romans 10:12, & Philippians 2:1-4. Thank you, Ad Deum!
