On Twitter last week a philosophy professor mused, “What if the moral arc of the universe does not always bend toward justice?” Through the thread that followed, clever minds competed to deconstruct Dr. King’s prophesy of hope in the God of Justice. I was struck by the cynicism of the view on display – a world without purpose, justice a mere fantasy of the foolish.
And I was reminded that I could never undertake the work of Justice Revival without a faith conviction that justice for the weak is God’s cause. While “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong,” God’s character is trustworthy.

Countdown to “Reflect, Revive, Rejoice! A Spiritual Gathering for Human Rights Day”
As we press toward justice in this shared hope, I hope you’ll join this community as we gather to renew our spiritual foundation. “Reflect, Revive, Rejoice!” takes place December 9th at 8pm EST / 5pm PST. Join us for worship, music, and fellowship as we:
- Reflect on where our country has fallen short of God’s justice over the past year
- Revive our hope and faith in the God always making a Way for justice and peace
- Rejoice in God’s abundant love and continual redemption through Christ, whose coming we celebrate this Advent season.

Urge the Attorney General to Make History with the ERA
Justice Revival and our #Faith4ERA partners continue to advocate vigorously for the Equal Rights Amendment. Last month, I signed a coalition-led letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland calling for the repeal of a questionable Trump-era legal opinion that discourages finalizing the ERA. You can show your support by signing on to the open letter for individuals, urging him "to correct this error and let history be made." Our Team Continues to Grow: Welcome, Phyllis Benson!
Phyllis Benson, our new Accountant & Bookkeeper, comes to Justice Revival with over 40 years of experience in accounting and finance. A former CFO and longtime nonprofit sector professional, Phyllis earned her MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and her CPA from New York State. We are delighted to welcome her and grateful that she’s sharing her time and talents with this ministry.
